day 6 of 2012

today was, let’s say — tumultuous & relaxing at the same time! was going to sleep over in NYC because it was my friend’s suprise bday party but couldn’t find the keys to my uncle’s apartment this morning. so it was an angry morning, but as i sat in the car out to NYC fuming, i calmed myself down and thought it over, and knew there must be a reason if i couldn’t find the keys. that just meant i would go to dinner & leave early, i just wouldn’t be able to spend the MOST amount of time out :( which sucks, because when i’m home it never feels like i have my 100% independence. 

but i hung out at the youth center at the building my church is in again, which is always nice because i’m good friends w/the staff workers and they’re always interesting to work with. read through another NatGeo (November issue) about more nature-y things and the plight of East Africa. Got to spend time with my mentor who was running errands around Chinatown & was treated to a tiramisu cupcake from a local bakery, Everything Frosted because she was friends with the owners (who were her former youth). it was just great to hear that those with bad pasts could be able to reforge their lives years later.

the dinner came & went. alexa was surprised of course, and spending time with my high school friends is always precious. BUT the best part of today was when i came home and my mom said my laptop was here !! so that was the reason i couldn’t find the keys this morning !

there is purpose in everything, as i am reminded all day err’day.
